Laminate Flooring

I can supply and fit flooring or fit only if you intend to buy your own flooring.

If you are buying your own laminate flooring the following are some of the points you might consider.

There is a huge choice of laminate flooring available on the market these days ranging from the relatively cheap to the rather expensive. In general they are durable, long lasting and easy to maintain.

Manufacturers do tend to focus attention on the wear rating of their product's surface.

In truth most are pretty hard wearing, but perhaps just as important as a good surface finish is the quality of the joining system on the boards. No matter how hard wearing your floor is it will never look good if gaps between the individual boards begin to appear.

A good quality joining system will give you smooth and seamless floors for years to come.

Today's laminate flooring comes in a wide variety of colours and shades and some surfaces give a very realistic wood effect.

The examples below show the sort of colours that are widely available.

VINTAGE OAK

LIBERTY OAK

PRESTIGE OAK

BLACK WALNUT

LOUNGE OAK

WEATHERED OAK

'V' Groove flooring can provide a more 'planked' effect than the standard laminates. This is achieved by providing a bevelled edge along each of the boards and can give a much more realistic wood effect.

In addition to the wood effect surfaces, tile effect laminates are very popular, particularly for kitchens. They give a very realistic tiled floor effect at much lower cost than the real thing.

So if you want a nice tiled floor without the cost that normally comes with it they are certainly worth consideration.

I can supply a variety of colours and finishes, in standard or V grooved laminate.

When supplying and fitting your flooring I will also provide all the accessories required to fit your floor.

However, if you are buying your own flooring do bear in mind that you will require accessories such as underlay, beading/trims and doorbars. Many retailers keep down the price of their flooring and make up profit margins in the price of these items, knowing full well that you will have to buy them anyway - so don't be surprised if they cost you a bit more than you might have expected.

Be aware that carpet underlays are NOT suitable for laminate floors.

I hope you find the above information useful but should you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
